Our First Meeting for 2011: Wed. March 16

Spring is right around the corner!

Spring will be here soon so it’s time to start thinking about the garden! The first meeting of the Capital City Organic Gardeners will be Wednesday, March 16th, 2011. We would love to have you join us. Here are the details…

Edible Landscapes and Victory Gardens
Presenter: George Malette, Master Gardener

Our landscapes are an extension of our homes. If growing, picking and eating the freshest and ripest fruits and vegetables on your own land appeals to you, then this presentation is for you. Why not incorporate edible flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables into our flower beds and landscape design? Would an herb and/or salad garden be convenient right outside of your kitchen door? Consider all of the possibilities.

Location: Wesley Methodist Church at 79 Clinton Street, Concord

Schedule:
Optional Potluck Supper and Social Time
(5:45-6:30)
Workshop
(6:45-8:00)

Potluck Details: Please bring a dish or food to share for the potluck that serves six. It would be helpful if you can bring your own dishes/utensils but we will have some paper products on hand. We have no time to heat food so please bring your food ready to serve.

Swap Table: Bring extra produce, seedlings, seeds, gardening books/magazines or tools to swap and/or share.

Free Raffle: A gift related to organic gardening will be raffled off at the end of every meeting.
